Biscuit @ Modiss
The beautiful lamps by La Granja Design for Modiss are made in a small village in Galicia. Standing between furnaces and plaster casts the designers seemed that there was no need to find a name for the lamp. That BISCUIT, the name given to the first firing of porcelain process, was great. Biscuit porcelain is associated with tableware and figurines. Every now and then a designer recognizes its fine quality and its potential as an excellent light diffuser. The production of Biscuit porcelain is a process done entirely by hand with skill, love and patience. The subtle imperfections are an added value and must not be seen as a defect. BISCUIT is a family of lamps that, thanks to the repetition of an organic shape module, generates an attractive and subtle play of light and shadow. It is manufactured in different shapes and sizes.
