Bocci 38 @ Bocci

The BOCCI 38 series is a fun combination of design and nature, a somewhat surrealistic appearance. The BOCCI 38 series is the result of experimentation of a technique whereby air is pushed in and out of the glass that is intermittently heated and cooled. First, the large glass spheres are blown, and then a multitude of white cavities are inserted, intentionally intersecting and colliding with each other. Several of these cavities are deep enough to contain succulent & cacti plants. There are two or three lighting elements per large sphere, and one or two plants. Art and lighting come together to provide a piece subtly resembling a vine. Copper strings are holding the formation together, and can be molded into various different shapes and formations. Because of this it appears that the BOCCI 38 series defines gravity witch gives it a really surrealistic look. Well done Bocci! [gallery order="DESC" columns="4" orderby="title"]
