Dipping Light @ Marset
Meet the DIPPING LIGHT by Marset, designed by Jordi Canudas Beyond its function as a lamp, the DIPPING LIGHT seeks to attract. When it’s turned on, its different shades of paint sift the light, creating a magical ambient effect. When it’s off, its coloured glass sphere is an object charged with grace, and eye-catching design piece for a cabinet, shelf, or table. Spanish designer Jordi Canudas calls himself an alchemist of light. He plays with light and wants to capture its very essence. With this objective in mind, DIPPING LIGHT was conceived during a playful experiment. Canudas dipped a lit bulb into wet paint a few times and saw the effect was pleasing, which led to the creation of the table lamp. The various layers of paint draw concentric circles and capture the light, moderating its intensity. The paint becomes the shade, colouring and texturizing the light. A brass base is added for support. This artisanal process will make each lamp a unique and exclusive creation. This DIPPING LIGHT collection starts out in two sizes and several colours: green, white, amber, black, pink, and blue. Each model illuminates with varying tones of light depending on the paint colour, creating a wide range of ambient lights. Through paint, Jordi Canudas turns his funky design into much more than form and function; the DIPPING LIGHT is a bold statement, not easily overlooked.
