Diesel's first cooperation with Foscarini dates from 2009. The reactions to the collaboration between the the famous clothing brand Diesel and the Italian lighting company Foscarini have been positive and the number of fans of this collection is growing steadily.
In 2012 the Diesel collection will be expanded with five new pendant, table and floor lamp designs. The series of novelties includes this small, jolly model ‘Duii mini’. Inspired by both: its namesake Disney character 'Dewey' and a shape of the headlight of a classic car, ‘Duii mini’ is available in two colours; bright yellow or dark grey.
"An object that inspires immediate sympathy, as the Disney character Louie - English Dewey - and inspired by the sound of the name. The base, thick importantly, resemables the big leg of a goose and can function as a comfortable support for small objects. On the basis of this project is the idea of installing and removing the component parts, a feature typical of objects belonging to the mechanical world - industrial, while maintaining a very playful mood. The arm consists of four elements of metal, held together by wing nuts, is articulated as the pieces of Mecano, pressed glass diffuser and metal inspired by the iconic shape of the headlights of a historic car, but remember the helmet of a worker, or a shaved head with a single central ridge, which adds a full stroke style punk Diesel."
