The inspiration for GLU came from the rotation of a satellite around a planet; the satellite being a dynamic element in continuous movement. The geometrical shape of GLU is given by the void in the center, created by the laser cut of the thin metal disc.
It is this space that enhances the balance between substance and air, making this pendant light pleasantly delicate and light. GLU is made of polished white aluminium, it uses 230v Led as a lightsource. The indirect light source further emphasizes the contrast between emptiness and substance and creates interesting shadows. GLU was designed by Pellegrini+Mengato design for Italian design label Fabbian. GLU will probably be available in 2-3 months
