The distinctive feature of the LA GRANDE lighting series by German label Anthologie Quartett is its unusual lamp shade, a combination of highly traditional product engineering and (initially) irritating dimensioning in harmony with bold coloring.
LA GRANDE has an long adjustable lampshade that can direct the light to the floor or the ceiling. The shades are available in two versions. First there is a transparent fabric for a particularly pleasant ambient light or choose the opaque fabric (lined with golden or silver foil) for targeted light.

It is the “( initially) irritating dimensioning” that really makes this design stand out: it seems bold, unapologetic — even reckless. On the other hand, the main component is just a lamp made of steel, walnut and textile. The cotton shades come in a wide range of colors. The free-standing version can be used on a table or — given its size — on the floor.
