LIGHTWING is the latest floorlamp by Foscarini designed by Jean Marie Massaud. The lamp is inspired by a desire to satisfy the light requirements of the whole day. It requires high light performance and a beautiful graphic form. The name says it all, LIGHTWING is a ‘wing’ of aluminum which you can rotate to create the light effect you want. The geometrical shape and the strong character gives it a timeless feeling. LIGHTWING is made up of a thin aluminum stem which contains the source of the LED light. The horizontal upper part of the stem contains the actual LED chip. A spherical supermagnet supports a soft outline, asymmetrical screen which can be adjusted to direct light in a great many directions with a simple hand movement. For example, it can be used as reading lamp (with a intimate beam of light) or as a uplighter (with an intense beam of light). The foot dimmer and the ‘wing’ reflector makes the Lightwing a very interesting and fun fixture which enables you to create different effects at different times of day, using the same floorlamp. Lightwing comes in two colors, shiny black or white. The internal section of the ‘wing’ reflector is always opaque white.
