MELTDOWN pendant lamp is the new creation of Johan Lindstén.
MELTDOWN is his first design for the brand CAPPELLINI. With this design, Lindstén has tried to create the illusion of a lighting bulb slowly melting through the glass diffuser. Where traditional globular diffusers have their light bulb suspended in the center of the diffuser, MELTDOWN has a 70W halogen bulb resting against the diffuser in a bulge at the lower end of the light. MELTDOWN is an interpretation and attempt to make something beautiful from the disastrous nuclear accident in Fukushima. Would an actual meltdown occur and what would the impact be? The disaster is reflected in the lamps where the process has already begun and the bulb is about to melt through the last defense of the glass." - Johan Lindstén is available as a single pendant or in different clusters. The suspension lamp is available in six different main colours: amber, tobacco, dove gray, light blue, amethyst, and rose. Other colours are available upon request.
