An intriguing design after visiting a warehouse full of old wooden molds from the Lasvit archive. After their visit, Jan Plehac and Henry Wielgus decided to resurrect the old glassblowing tradition into a new life. The combination of raw and pure materials makes MOLDS so special. The elegant, pure crystal glass is blown into a wooden mold, with iron nails holding it together. The LED source is directly arranged into the wood, generating the impression that the heat and energy of the glass oven and the Czech glassblowers is stored in the design. MOLDS can be bought as pendant lighting (available in three sizes) or table lighting (available in two sizes).
The designers Jan and Henry met while studying at The Academy of Art, Architecture and Design (AAAD) in Prague where they contracted their first collaborations. In 2012 they founded the studio Jan Plehac & Henry Wielgus.
