Monza Photovoltaic @ Disano
Although it might seem that electricity is omni present, the reality is quite different. There are many places, especially in rural areas where there is absolutely no power. If you still want to have light in certain places, such as at the entrance to the yard or in a prominent location along a path, running electricity cables can be a very complex and expensive operation, especially when only a few fixtures are called for. Italian lighting manufacturer Disano has now developed MONZA PHOTOVOLTAIC which consists of a combination of luminaire and solar panel. This unit is fully autonomous. When fully charged, this combination has a burning time of 42 hours. This is because the light is always switched to sleep mode state. Through an integrated light sensor, the light will fully illuminate when someone within a radius of 10-15m is approached. This obviously saves energy, which improves the autonomy, but also light pollution is kept to a minimum, which is very important because these fixtures will be applied especially in dark and rural areas.
