Parábola was created by designer Miguel Herranz for B.Lux. The name of the light is of course inspired by the parabolic shape of the lighting fixture. This curved reflector is integrated in a square frame, which makes Parábola suitable for numerous of different environment. Parábola’s rounded corners complete the soft look of the lighting fixture, creating a geometric balance between the squared frame and the round reflector. In the centre of Parábola, Herranz placed a mirror. This mirror perfectly covers the 55W fluorescent bulb. The main reason Herranz incorporated the mirror is to give another dimension to the environment of the lamp. Besides that, the centred position of the mirror provokes the illusion of a halo of light around it. When desired, the mirror can of course also function as any mirror is used, with the incorporated lighting as a useful extra feature. Miguel Herranz initially designed Parábola as a wall lamp. This is of course the most logical choice when you want to use the mirror. Parábola can also be placed as a ceiling light. This enhances the illusion of a bigger room. The suspension version of Parábola is also very suitable for his purpose.
