Placebo @ Modular
Belgian designer Jeffrey Huyghe designed PLACEBO, a playful luminaire by Modular Lighting Instruments. The idea of Placebo quickly became a product family. PLACEBO isn’t just one luminaire. Two shapes, each in two sizes, and all four offer two lighting possibilities. The matt with glasses are handblown in three layers. There are four shapes;  ball or tube, small or large. The metal part that house the led engine is available in anodized metal in champagne, silver bronze, bronze or black and the structure painted versions in white or black. The version with the integrated gear add to the design, the body is repeated in the ceiling canopy. Body and canopy are always in the same colours. The driver is available in trailing edge, 1-10V or  DALI dimmable versions. A version with the gear excluded is also possible. This version has a flat ceiling piece. Choosing the right version means you have to make a number of decisions: up/down, the shape of the glass, colour of the body, gear excluded or included and if included: the dimming type. PLACEBO is a family of elements inviting you to mix and match. Placebo is a multitude of playful general lighting luminaires for residential, hospitality and upscale retail spaces.
