Tatou @ Flos
FLOS has launched TATOU, a new family of lamps by Patricia Urquiola. TATOU combines geometrical complexity with high-quality craftsmanship and is set to become another Flos lighting classic. The name 'TATOU' is the french word for 'Armadillo' the mammal famous for its structure made up of plates of bone covered with a protective layer of horn.  Urquiola: "Tatou has an emotional sound to it, which I think is consistent with the emotional function of this object". TATOU is mad of methacrylic/polycarbonate, these materials interact with the light and lends itself to different effects depending on the proportions between its components of milkiness, opacity and colour. Flos performed many tests to find the perfect final combination of these three components, and managed like this to give a polymer material a sense of preciousness. TATOU is available in a floor, table and suspension models. It is offered in two different sizes and three finishes: white, black or plum. [gallery order="DESC" columns="4" orderby="title"]
