has created an enchanting collection of spell-binding table lamps. Part of the Observatory family, Tidal table lamps are a homage to the mesmerising wonder of our solar system. Lee Broom’s illusionary table lamps defy the rules of attraction to add astonishing accents to any space.
Magnetic design
With his Tidal collection, Broom breaks all the rules to bring us a design that looks like an illusion. Poles apart, Tidal’s captivating body of opposing parts, show us that at the heart of our universe, there is light.
Unlike the complete sphere that you expect, Tidal’s two hemispheres are balanced, as if by magic, at opposing ends of the sphere’s centre. A shape transformed by unseen gravitational forces, like the invisible pushes and pulls of our solar system. A force that reveals the important, powerful light hidden inside, as Tidal’s opal light breaks through its dark, shiny exterior.
Tidal’s mesmerising design is composed of opal acrylic and steel, finished in polished black.
Broom says: ‘I wanted to create a celestial collection of sculptural lighting which is progressive and experimental, using the latest technology’. And that he does. Tidal is a beautiful, elegant and impressive composition that brings a fresh approach to design.
