Austrian lighting company Prolicht announced a new cooperation: They are joining forces with Tom Dixon on a global scale, starting with a common approach to lighting project business worldwide. The goal is is to complete each other by merging the unique design vision of Tom Dixon with the technical lighting knowledge of Prolicht.

TECHNOLOGY x DESIGN

The technical lighting knowledge and manufacturing capabilities of Prolicht could complement the iconic style of Tom Dixon perfectly. This relationship started informally a few years ago when they worked on a number of the same projects independently. After the first successful results, Prolicht has begun to become the preferred choice for architectural lighting in Tom Dixon’s interior projects. With both teams working more and more together, an apparent affinity in vision and philosophy emerged.

MERGING SPIRITS

Walter Norz, founder and CEO of Prolicht, and Tom Dixon are the creative minds behind this collaboration. Since their first meeting in 2019 the idea of joining forces became more and more vivid and in less than six months of preliminary formal discussions, it has becomes a reality. The British design soul and the Austrian architectural lighting knowledge has already set to motion a variety of before unthinkable future developments.

CODE

CODE is an LED track system which combines Prolicht's expertise in technical lighting engineering with the obvious Tom Dixon design. Utilizing bare LEDs on circuit boards are used to create blocks of light, thin strips, delicate chains and continuous columns of light. CODE has three LED light sources: Code (round), Dash (strip) and Grid (square), all elementary shapes. It basically is a kit op parts that allow infinite possibilities to design graphic lighting sculptures from the most minimal to the most intricate composition.
