SPRING is a group of three pendant lamps made up of stainless-steel bands. Pliant ribbons of stainless steel have been arranged like a whisk around the LED unit that was custom-made for Tom Dixon.
The semi-transparent shape consequently created can be modified to a variety of forms - from a flat arrangement reminiscent of a spirograph drawing to a flying saucer configuration and on to a fuller shape akin to a pumpkin.
This engineering material has memory and dictates the form of the final shade. The spiral design allows the bulky SPRING shades to be easily flat-packed for transportation.
