Roof Top Light @ Lightboys
For two years German designers Jirko Bannas and Oliver Seltmann worked intensively on the idea of the light picture. None of the existing standard products measured up to their vision of an ultra-flat, bright and uniformly illuminated light wall.   Under the label 'Lightboys', Bannas and Seltmann develop products which meet the highest technical, aesthetic and artistic demands – the LIGHTWALL, the ROOF TOP  and the POLABOY are fine examples. Lightboys had the great idea to propose this design object "Rooftop Ceiling Lights." Taking up the tradition of painting the ceiling, the concept was to illuminate photographs, giving depth and structure to the ceiling. "In the almost forgotten tradition of the classical ceiling painters, we revive an area which is often neglected in modern interior design – the ceiling. Our large-format illuminated photographs mounted on an ultra-light housing only 40 mm in thickness literally show rooms in a new light." Be it a romantic starlit sky above a bed, treetops over a dining table or an old church dome in a lift: ROOF TOP LIGHTS give spaces a fourth dimension.
