Young Designers @ LB 2016

Watch and be inspired by the creative ideas of the new generation of young designers as they present their lamps and luminaires. In a special area, which is sponsored by Messe Frankfurt, newcomers to the sector are offered an ideal platform on which to make contact with industry and with a trade and professional public.

Aeneas Stankowski und Florian Hundt (FORI) The basic idea for FORI was developed as part of an exhibition at the Milan Furniture Fair 2014, with the aim of flexible illumination of different objects . Florian Gross (Balca) BALCA allows us to play with its hight according to our needs and mood. Balca makes it possible by screwing its lamp shade over the metal threaded rod. We can adapt it to our individual or group needs while moving the light source up and down. Jenny Ekdahl (Minor Flaws) The lamps in the MINOR FLAWS collection are mouth blown by Micke Johansson at his studio in Örsjö, Sweden. The blowing process involves a whole working team – positioning the brass rings, blowing the glass, cooling the glass where needed and pressing the glass to keep the shape in control. After the glass has cooled in a controlled environment, they’re sent to Bergdala Glasbruk where the glass is cut and sanded. In Malmö the glass, top lid, and socket are put together into the finished lamp.
