Bouwmeester, Robert

1996 Delft University Industrial design graduate. 1996-2001 design studio Waac’s Rotterdam. As a junior designer, the projects Robert Bouwmeester works on range from interior & public space design to product design, including the Senseo coffee machine. 2001-2006 Nike EHQ Hilversum. At Nike EHQ, Robert Bouwmeester starts at retail development and later brand design. He works on the development of fixturing systems for various types of Nike stores, including the multi gender stores, Nike women stores and the ACG stores. In addition, He designs the refit of the EMEA Factory Outlet Stores, about 60 at the time. The introduction of ‘double height’ footwear fixtures with an open mid-section is a significant improvement in store optimization as back off house storage is reduced, increasing sales surface. 2006-2013 design studio bouwmeestervanrens The studio is responsible for the design of a wide range consumer products, from exclusive garden furniture for Borek, to complex electrical guitars for Aristides Instruments. Interior design focusses on retail and office design, but it also includes conceptual train interiors for the Dutch railway company (NS), and visualisations for a number of Starbucks locations, including ‘the Bank’ in Amsterdam. 2013-present studioBOUWMEESTER Since 2013 Robert Bouwmeester works from his studio in Huizen (Amsterdam area) on retail space, office design and consumer products. A recent retail project is the design of an 800m2 flagship store for Teufel & Raumfeld in Berlin. Robert also designed their new Amsterdam store. For Aalberts Industries he designed new office spaces at the Eindhoven High Tech Center (HTC), and recently a set of LED light fixtures is introduced, designed for solidlighting
