Castiglioni, Achille

Castiglioni, Achille

Castiglioni was born in 1918. He studied architecture in il Politecnico di Milano. After worldwar II he joined the design studio ran by his two brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo, also architects. His objects stand as a clear example of rigorous methods, technical ability, exhuberant talent and genious, combined to achieve beauty realized in a rational and emotional plane. His work is an example of good design.

During his long career, Castiglioni has designed dozens of objects, as well as temporal architecture for several art exhibitions, sample exhibits and saloons. Castiglioni sees the world as a marvelous catalog of objects that can provide ideas and direction to designers. His own work is often inspired by daily things. His personal collection of found objects, collected through a life of curiousity, consists in objects of his own life.
