Elio Martinelli founded Martinelli Luce in the fifties. Using his creative talent, he was able to design and manufacture lighting equipment which was innovative in both appearance and technology.
Manufacturing lamps such as the Pipistrello, the Cobra, the Serpente and the Biconica, which are found today in the collections of the major design museums, Elio Martinelli was one of the pioneers of Italian lighting design, which he helped to develop and spread throughout the world.
