Ontwerpduo

Ontwerp Duo Tineke Beunders and Nathan Wierink met at the Design Academy in Eindhoven and made a pact to translate fairytale ideas into functional designs and surprise the world with them. Established in 2008, their Eindover studio is more like a laboratory, where daydream designs are realized. From human-sized hanging birdcages as chairs to a crooked cupboard to a rocking chair that doubles as a crib and more. Beunders is the dreamer who imagines things unlike they actually are, inspired by the secret world of children, like Alice in Wonderland. Wierink is the mathematician who turns her fantasies into feasible, functional realities. Light Forest is a whimsical lamp that branches out like a tree. A wall and ceiling lamp system that can be configured in multiple ways for an aesthetic that’s both organic and industrial. Its light aluminium branches and copper lampshades flowers are foliage that can fit into places that other lamps cannot. "We were instantly intrigued by “Light Forest” because it’s a reference to nature transformed into an industrial aesthetic that still remains poetic,” notes Martin Kornbek Hansen. “In doing so, Ontwerp Duo created a new kind of beauty. Something we continuously seek at &tradition."
