In mid-2017, around 850 new study places were created on the Roeterseiland Campus of the University of Amsterdam.

Architect Tanja Buijs-Vitkova of Aiscube has created a design for the spaces in consultation with students and staff. The design provides a variety of types of study places and types of furniture. That way there are places to work concentrated, but also to work together in groups with screens and whiteboards. This creates a diverse range of study places on campus. The study places are well equipped with electrical outlets. By adding these study places, the Library now offers approximately 1.700 study places on the Roeterseiland Campus. The students are very positive about the new areas.

The Roeterseiland Campus is an open city campus where the Faculties of Economics and Business, Social and Behavioral Sciences are housed.
